Recent collaboration between Prime Minister’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government and the Ministry of Finance has led to further development of the UCC-developed Planning and Reporting system for Local Governments. The system now facilitates linking between Local Governments plans and budgets and Mkukuta (The National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty). It also allows exporting of budgets from the PlanRep systems across the country into the Ministry of Finance’s Strategic Budget Allocation System (SBAS) also developed by UCC. This will for the first time allow both central and local government budgets to be analysed using the same Mkukuta framework.

Other key developments in the PlanRep system include the incorporation of special planning and tracking tools for Local Government Health sector activities. This involved extensive collaboration with the Ministry of Health and facilitates nationwide tracking of key health sector reforms.
