ZANHID is a database for collecting data on the multi-sectoral response to HIV/AIDS in Zanzibar from Government institutions, NGOs, schools and businesses on official ZHAPMOS forms. There are also sections of the database dealing with other indicators, financing, supervision visits, documentation library, contacts and dissemination information. There is a micro version for use by districts and a main database used by the Zanzibar AIDS Commission, with export and import features. ZANHID is used extensively by the Zanzibar AIDS Commission in production of its periodic reports. The system was developed in the period December 2006 to May 2008. The front end is programmed in MS Access Visual Basic for Applications with back end in MySQL.
